Starting to notice more and more 1 certain colleague tries to get in little digs whenever he can in earshot of most people in the office
anyone else had this problem!?

I once worked with someone who on the face of it was a decent bloke but as a sly cunt and completely fucked me over for a promotion. (Yes, he got the burger prep job while I had to keep on washing the lettuce...)
Now I just view everyone with a slight amount of caution and cynicism. Sad that it's like that, but hey ho.

I sometimes find that I have to repeat myself when people miss the sly dig first time around. Some are a bit slow on the uptake, but that's another problem.

I have been field based for over 25 years, one major benefit of which has been to avoid all office politics, back biting and suchlike.
Also means I get to spend significant portions of my working life on my own.
Highly recommended.

woman are the worst. i used to manage a team of 9 with 8 woman. they all hated each other really. in the mornings i'd hear stories about how 1 had slagged the other off and they were going to have it out, then the offender would come and in and it would be all like "alright babes?! doing lunch today"

I work in a 3 person office and I employed the 2 girls I work with and trust the pair of them.
People in the wider company less so, but nothing that bothers me. If it did i'd make sure I wasn't two faced by posting about them on an internet forum and actually confront them with my issue.

In my early days I worked in a section of nine blokes. Two of them were the strong silent types. They never complained, were non judgemental and did not office gossip. After nearly a year I found out that these two were Masons and in the same Lodge as our overall governor. They played us all like violins.
